Pilot ‘Food for Thought’ event aimed at tackling food poverty locally

We are delighted to pilot a new think tank event exploring food poverty in our communities in Wicklow.

This event from 9.30 to 11.30am in Arklow library on Thursday 17th October is aimed at voluntary organisations and community groups supporting families and individuals experiencing food poverty either directly or indirectly in their local community.

The morning will provide an opportunity for collaboration, interaction and information sharing between the various local groups. It will address some of the concerns expressed for Food Poverty locally, including:

  • Cost of living crisis
  • Stigma accessing food supports in our community
  • Lack of coordination and information sharing between groups
  • Quality and suitability of food provision in emergency food

This is the first in a series of Food Poverty ‘think tanks’ BNWAP are holding in locations around County Wicklow. All are welcome! Come along and join the conversation over a cuppa and refreshments.
